Port Macquarie couple served $1 million Lotto win for breakfast
Forget tea and toast, a Port Macquarie couple were served a $1 million Monday & Wednesday Lotto prize for breakfast this morning.
The retired couple held one of the two division one winning entries in Monday & Wednesday Lotto draw 4107, drawn Wednesday 25 August 2021. They scored the division one prize of $1 million.
The winning duo were completely oblivious to their good fortune until we made contact this morning.
“Ahhhh! Oh my god!” the winning woman screamed.
“Thank you! I can’t believe it!
“We’re just having breakfast!
“I’m going to go wake my family and tell them. They won’t believe it.
“These numbers have been played by my family for decades. We took them over about 15 years ago and kept them. They’re family birthdates and anniversaries. We’ve always just thought we’d keep trying.
“This is going to change our lives!
“We might even get married again! We have thought about renewing our vows! I don’t know if I can remember the first ones, so we could make new ones.
“We can’t wait to celebrate this with our family. I’m very blessed.”
The couple’s winning marked System 8 entry was purchased at Settlement City Newsagency & LPO, Shop 17, Settlement City Shopping Centre, Cnr Bay and Park Street, Port Macquarie.
Settlement City Newsagency & LPO owner Nikhil Jotsingani said he was thrilled for his latest winning customers.
“This is the third division one winning entry the outlet’s sold so far this year, and the second since we took it over about three months ago,” he said.
“It’s a great reason to celebrate. It’s always great to have good news to share with our customers. Everyone will be so happy for our winners.
“Congratulations to them. We wish them all the very best with their prize!”
