Newborough colleagues savour a slice of $2 million Saturday Lotto pie
A Newborough woman and her seven colleagues have started the working week on a high after their private TattsLotto syndicate entry scored $2 million.
The Victorian players held one of the 10 division one winning entries in Saturday Lotto draw 4177, drawn Saturday 31 July 2021 – each pocketed a $2 million prize.
When speaking with us this afternoon, the private syndicate leader confessed she was in a state of disbelief about their good fortune.
“We’re all amazed! It was a pleasant surprise on the weekend,” she revealed.
“One of my colleagues actually checked the ticket on the night of the draw and realised we had won. Her husband had to check the ticket for her because she couldn’t believe it!
“She texted me straight away, so I opened The Lott app to check. At first, I could only see a win of $17, and I thought to myself ‘that’s not really a win to get excited about!’.
“Then I went onto my emails, and I saw the windfall. My heart nearly jumped out of my chest!
“It’s amazing.”
The cheerful woman said each member of the syndicate had been busy contemplating how they might enjoy their share of the prize.
“Some have no idea how they’ll spend their prize. One said they might get themselves a new car. Another said this has come at the perfect time,” she exclaimed.
“I would really like to go on a holiday myself and travel overseas, but that’s only when the borders open.
“We haven’t had the chance to celebrate yet but will eventually. Most of us have told our significant others and I told my parents!
“We’re so thankful!”
The winning marked 30-game entry was purchased online at thelott.com – Australia’s official lotteries.
