Diamonds are a girl’s best friend: Darwin woman to treat herself after discovering $1.4 million TattsLotto win
A Darwin woman is excited to indulge and buy herself some diamond jewellery after checking her division one winning TattsLotto ticket more than a month after the draw and discovering she’s now more than $1.4 million richer.
The overjoyed winner held one of the seven division one winning entries nationally in TattsLotto draw 4119, drawn Saturday 9 January 2020. Each entry took home a division one prize worth $1,428,571.43.
The winning entry was unregistered, which means we had no way of contacting the winner to break the life-changing news. Instead, we had to wait for the ticketholder to come forward to claim their prize.
Today, the emotional woman discovered she was the mystery winner we had been searching for.
“I feel like I am going to wake up from a dream,” she explained.
“How can this be real? It certainly doesn’t feel real!
“I just keep thinking ‘this is a dream, this is all just a dream’.
“I really hope it isn’t a dream! “It’s a dream come true!
“I only found out, because I went to buy a ticket for this weekend’s draw and then checked this ticket in the process.
“I had absolutely no idea. It’s crazy!
“It’s an adrenaline rush!”
When asked how she planned to enjoy her million-dollar prize, the Northern Territory resident didn’t hesitate to explain her ideas.
“The first thing I will do is pay off my mortgage,” she shared.
“I am going to get myself a few diamonds as well!
“I am working right now, but tonight, I am definitely going to be spoiling myself to something nice for dinner to celebrate.”
The winning entry was purchased at Bardens Pharmacy, Shop 1, 47 Cavenagh Street, Darwin.
Bardens Pharmacy manager Ashleigh Hutson said she was thrilled to share in the winning moment with her customer.
“We are absolutely over the moon for our winner,” she said.
“I am so glad I got to be there when she discovered the news. It was an incredible moment to be a part of.
“It’s super exciting and we really hope she can do some nice things with her prize.
“Hopefully we sell some more division one winning entries soon.”
