“This is my golden ticket!”: Mornington mum scores mouth-watering $2 million TattsLotto prize
A Mornington mum has today likened winning a “dream-come-true” $2 million in the weekend’s TattsLotto draw to finding the golden ticket to Willy Wonka’s Chocolate Factory.
The Victorian held one of the ten division one winning entries nationally in TattsLotto draw 4177 on Saturday 31 July 2021. Each division one winning entry scored $2 million.
When we called the winner this morning, she was still in bed and completely oblivious she’d become an overnight multi-millionaire.
“I am just waking up, but I needed to get up for work anyway,” she giggled.
“Wait, are you joking? Are you sure this is real?
“Oh my god! I am so not going to work now! I am not going, no way! I am going to celebrate with my family instead.
“Oh my! I am just so blown away.
“I am not sure if I believe this. I definitely don’t believe this.
“You’ve absolutely made my life! This is amazing.
“I’ve always wanted to win division one, so this just feels absolutely amazing.
“This feels like a Willy Wonka moment, like I am Charlie from Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. You know how he wanted to win so bad and then he got the golden ticket, and it was a dream come true?
“Now I’ve won! This is my golden ticket, my chocolate factory and my dream come true. “With a multi-million-dollar prize, I could probably get my own chocolate factory, too.”
When asked how she planned to enjoy her multi-million-dollar prize, the jolly winner said it would allow her to achieve the great Australian dream of home ownership.
“I am going to buy a house,” she shared.
“I have been dreaming of owning our family home for years and now I can actually do it!
“The rest I will share with my family and use to set the kids up for their future.”
Her winning 18-game QuickPick entry was purchased online at thelott.com – Australia’s official lotteries.
