Now that’s a catch! Gippsland man reels in $800,000 Lotto win
A Gippsland man has reeled in his biggest catch yet on a recent fishing trip – an $800,000 Lotto win.
The winner held one of the five division one winning entries nationally in Monday & Wednesday Lotto draw 4067, drawn Wednesday 7 April 2021. Each entry takes home a division one prize worth $800,000.
Speaking with our team, the Victorian player explained he was still in a state of shock from the discovery.
“I only just found out on Sunday,” the winning man elucidated.
“I was out fishing and that’s when I checked my ticket. I couldn’t believe it!
“It took the whole day for the news to sink in. It’s insane.
“Eight hundred thousand dollars! That’s just crazy.
“It’s a life-changing win for me. People win millions, but for me, this is huge.
“I just can’t believe this is happening to me!
“I went to my parents that night to celebrate and we had a few drinks. I think I need a few more now it’s been confirmed.”
When asked how he planned to enjoy his Lotto loot, the exhilarated winner said he was thinking of the future.
“The plan is to pay off the mortgage,” he explained.
“I wouldn’t mind making a few investments as well. I am very much thinking of the long term.
“I don’t want to waste it; I want to grow it!
“I wouldn’t mind going on a bit of holiday as well.” '
The winning entry was sold at Sale Centre Lotto, Shop 40 Gippsland Centre, 37-39 Cunningham Street, Sale.
