Goldfields region sparkles as two Wednesday Lotto millionaires crowned
Victoria’s Goldfields region has lived up to its reputation, making two Wednesday Lotto players overnight millionaires.
The two Victorians were the only division one winners across Australia in Monday & Wednesday Lotto draw 3953, drawn Wednesday 4 March 2020. They each take home a division one prize of $1 million.
The winning entries were purchased at Strathfieldsaye News & Lotto, 939 Wellington Street, Strathfieldsaye, and Creswick Lotto, 65 Albert Street, Creswick.
One of the division one winners, a Strathfieldsaye woman, confessed to having a sleepless night after discovering her good fortune last night.
“I’m a little bit shaky!” she laughed when speaking to an official from the Lott this morning.
“I didn’t believe it was real until this phone call. This is the best phone call I’ve ever had.
“I’ve been playing for a while and I always had a feeling that I might win one day.
“I checked my ticket last night and I had a restless sleep after that. We had some beautiful rain last night so I spent a lot of time listening to that!”
When asked how she might enjoy her life as a millionaire, the winner had no hesitation.
“That’s my retirement!” she exclaimed.
“I’ll also use it to help my family.”
The winner, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased her winning 12-game QuickPick entry at Strathfieldsaye News & Lotto, 939 Wellington Street, Strathfieldsaye.
Strathfieldsaye Newsagent and Lotto owner Leanne Waterson said her team was busy decorating the outlet in celebration.
“I couldn’t believe we’d sold a division one. We’re all so excited!” she said.
“We’ll be decorating our outlet to make sure everyone knows we’ve sold a division one winning entry.
“This is our outlet’s first-ever division one winner and our loyal customers will all be as excited as us.
“Congratulations to the lucky winner and thank you for supporting Strathfieldsaye News and Lotto.”
Another Goldfields division one winner may be oblivious to their win
A Creswick shopper may have yet to discover they’re now a millionaire from last night’s draw. While their entry, purchased Creswick Lotto, 65 Albert Street, Creswick, was registered to a Tatts Card, officials have been unable to contact them on the details provided.
We urge anyone who had an entry in last night’s draw to check their tickets immediately.
If you realise you’re the Creswick division one winner we’re looking for, hold on tight to that ticket and give us a call immediately on 131 868 to confirm the win and start the prize claim process.
Creswick Lotto owner Robert Bridges said he was celebrating seeing another division one win land in his outlet.
“It wonderful and exciting. I’m so pleased for our winner, whoever they may be,” he said.
“We’ve been letting everybody know we’ve had a win and we hope it’s a local player.
“The last time we sold a division one winning entry was about five years ago and we’ve had three division one wins in total during the past 26 years. This prize is the biggest we’ve had so far.
“Our sincerest congratulations to our winner. We hope it changes their life for the better.”
