A couple from South Australia have had a driving holiday they’ll never forget after scoring $1 million in last night’s Monday & Wednesday Lotto draw from an entry they purchased while passing through Parkes.

The couple’s entry was the only division one winning entry across Australia in Monday & Wednesday Lotto draw 3817 on Wednesday 14 November 2018. They take home the guaranteed division one prize of $1 million.

When we spoke to them this morning, the roving wife and husband couldn’t contain their jubilation.

“Yahoo!!” the woman screamed when their prize was confirmed.

“We’re on holidays driving around New South Wales. We’re on a road trip.

“We were in Parkes and we thought we’d buy a Lotto ticket.

“We’ve been driving around seeing all these nice little caravans on the road, saying ‘if we win Lotto, we’ll buy one of those’, and look what happened!

“We only discovered just now. We were sitting at the table checking our ticket. My husband said ‘we’ve got 4 numbers, oh we’ve got 5 numbers, no love, we’ve got 6!” It was amazing.”

“It’s unbelievable,” he husband added.

Apart from shopping for a caravan for future travels, the couple shared they might also use their prize to buy a new car and enjoy a cruise.

They also have yet to decide whether they’ll head back to work or just keep driving.

“It’s already been a holiday we won’t forget,” the woman added.

The couple, who wish to remain anonymous, purchased their winning entry at newsXpress Parkes, 284 Clarinda Street, Parkes.

NewsXpress Parkes owner Greg Nash said he was celebrating another major win landing in his outlet.

“We’ve been here ten years and we’ve sold lots of big prizes, but this is actually the first division one in Lotto we’ve sold,” he said.

“We’ve sold a couple of 1st Prizes in Lucky Lotteries, and even an $8.8 million jackpot in Lucky Lotteries. Customers are always asking when we’re going to sell another big one, and now we have!
