Million-dollar Gold Lotto win stops Rockhampton grazier in his tracks
A Rockhampton grazier was stopped in his tracks this morning, pulling over his car to hear the news he’s started Tuesday as a millionaire thanks to last night’s lottery draw.
The Central Queensland resident held one of the two division one winning entries in Monday & Wednesday Gold Lotto draw 4118, drawn Monday 4 October 2021. Each division one winner walked away with $1 million.
When our team called the winning man this morning to break the news, he had no idea that his day was about to change in the best way imaginable.
“Oh my god. Thank you so much, darling,” he laughed.
“I feel very, very happy. Very happy!”
“Oh my god. I’ve been buying tickets for a long time. I can’t believe this has finally happened!
“This is the best phone call I’ve received in a very long time and one I will certainly never forget.
“Thank you so much.”
When asked how he thought he might enjoy his million-dollar fortune, he thought of others first.
“I am going to give some to charity and help out some people I know who really need it,” he explained.
“I will keep working on the farm, but I might be able to spoil myself a little bit now.
“We will certainly be able to relax a little bit more!”
The happy farmer, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased his life-changing 50-game QuickPick from Card & Paper Shop, Shop 066 Stockland, 61-331 Yaamba Road, North Rockhampton.
Card & Paper Shop employee Ben Dingley said he couldn’t be happier for his regular customer.
“We are so excited to see this prize go to one of our local customers,” he said.
“There has been such a buzz in-store, so many people have been coming in with big, bright smiles.
“This is the fourth division one winning entry we’ve sold, and we can’t wait for the next one.
“Congratulations to them!”
