A sleepy Stanthorpe woman has shown up to work this morning despite becoming an overnight millionaire thanks to last night’s Wednesday Gold Lotto draw. 

The Southern Downs region resident held one of the three division one winning entries across Australia in Monday & Wednesday Gold Lotto draw 4023, drawn Wednesday 4 November 2020, and takes home a division one prize of $1 million. 

Sharing her excitement with us this morning, the woman explained she’d had a sleepless night. 

“Thank you,” she laughed. 

“I feel really, really numb. 

“I didn’t sleep at all last night. I checked my ticket just before I went to bed and I couldn’t believe it! I was up all night wondering if it was all a dream. 

“All I could say and think was ‘wow’. 

“I bought the ticket at the last minute yesterday afternoon after my colleague and I were chatting about winning the lottery. 

“I still can’t believe it. It’s not sinking in! 

“I’m at work right now. I like coming to work so I don’t mind being here.”

When asked if she’d keep showing up to work once the prize was in her bank account, the hardworking woman said she would. 

“I’ll keep working and use my prize to buy a home instead of having to rent,” she explained. 

“It will feel amazing to have something that is mine. I just can’t believe it! 

“I’ll be able to help my children out as well.”
