A Wagga Wagga man admits he didn’t get much sleep on the weekend after the heart-racing revelation he’s now a Saturday Lotto multi-millionaire. 

The New South Wales man held one of the 10 division one winning entries in Saturday Lotto draw 4177, drawn Saturday 31 July 2021. He pocketed a $2 million prize. 

In addition to the division one prize, the winner’s System 8 QuickPick entry also scored division three 12 times and division four 15 times, bolstering his total windfall to $2,011,639.10. 

“I can’t believe it!” the winning man exclaimed when speaking to us this morning. 

“I’ve been playing Lotto for a long time, but this is just a QuickPick. I gave up on my own numbers a while ago as I’d only get a little win here and there. 

“I checked my ticket after the draw on Saturday night. I’d had a bad day and I just thought I’d take a look. I haven’t had much sleep since! My blood is stirring! 

“I had to look at it a couple of times. My family didn’t believe me. 
“Someone is shining a star up there for me!” 

When asked how being a multi-millionaire might change his life, the Wagga Wagga resident said he would take some time to carefully plan how best to use the prize. 

“The kids will be happy,” he laughed. 

“We’re getting close to retirement, so it’s come at a really great time. Instead of getting to retirement and not being able to do anything, we’ll really be able to enjoy ourselves. 

“We’ll still go to work for now, but we might retire earlier now.” 

The winning System 8 QuickPick entry was sold at Ashmont Newsagency, Shop 6, Ashmont Mall, 47-49 Tobruk Street, Wagga Wagga. 

Ashmont Newsagency owner Himanshu Rawal said he was thrilled to sell his first division one winning entry. 

“I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw an email saying our outlet had sold a division one winning entry. I was so excited as we were waiting for this moment since we took over the outlet back in June 2015,” he said. 

“We have posters and balloons everywhere in our shop. We’re very excited to tell customers we’ve had a major win! 

“For our winner, we hope they enjoy every moment in the next chapter of their life.”
