One Sydney woman has received a Valentine’s Day gift she will never forget – news she’s now a millionaire!

The New South Wales retiree held the only division one winning entry nationally in Monday & Wednesday Lotto draw 3843, drawn Wednesday 13 February 2019, taking home the guaranteed division one prize of $1 million.

When we contacted the woman this morning to break the life-changing news, they were met with stunned silence.

“That’s wonderful news,” she eventually managed.

“That’s really exciting.

“It’s a godsend.”

The unsuspecting winner revealed she’d been playing Monday & Wednesday Lotto since the 1980s, always marking her entries with special numbers.

“The biggest prize I’ve ever won is $1,000, so $1,000,000, this is just great!” she exclaimed.

“They’re actually my husband’s numbers.

“He’s gone off to play golf, but he will be over the moon when I tell him we’ve won!

“He will be so excited.

“His numbers are based on birthdays and other special anniversaries.”

The retiree said she’d never dreamt of how she’d spend a million-dollar division one prize but couldn’t wait to start.

“We will definitely have to think about it for a while,” she said.

“But we would love to move, so this will make that entire process a whole lot easier.”

The winning Monday & Wednesday Lotto ticket was purchased at Shepherds Bay Newsagency, Shop 6 11A, The Village Plaza Shepherds, 11 Bay Drive, Meadowbank.

Shepherds Bay Newsagency owner Phuong Dong said she was so excited to discover the outlet had sold a division one winning entry.

“I was literally jumping up and down when I realised we’d sold the winning entry this morning!” she exclaimed.

“The last time we sold a division one winning entry was in 2013 in Saturday Lotto.

“It’s been a little while so we’re thrilled. We’ve been telling all our customers that we sold a winning entry and they are all so happy for the winner!”
