After winning $2 million in TattsLotto, a Beaumaris man is keen to spread the joy this festive season by popping large sums of cash into his loved ones’ Christmas cards as a surprise.

His entry was one of the five division one winning entries nationally in TattsLotto draw 4211, drawn Saturday 27 November 2021. Each entry takes home a division one prize of $2 million.

There have been 29 division one wins in southeast Melbourne so far this year worth more than $47.24 million.

Speaking with us, the Melbourne man explained a spur-of-the-moment decision led to his division one win.

“I usually register my tickets, so that’s why it took me so long to find out,” he laughed.

“But on this occasion, I was shopping in Beaumaris when I passed the lottery shop and I saw there was a boosted prize and so I decided to buy a ticket. I didn’t have my player card, so I wasn’t able to register it.

“It was a spur-of-the-moment decision. I wouldn’t have bought the ticket otherwise. And because I hadn’t registered it, I completely forgot I’d even bought the ticket.

“Then the other day I heard about a mystery winner, so I checked my ticket online while I was in bed.

“When I saw the confetti fall from the screen, I thought it was magic! It’s a magical win!

“I was with some family when I discovered the win. They were absolutely blown away.

“My dad always said one of us would win division one and turns out, he was right! It’s absolutely fantastic!”

The Victorian declared he was excited to use his prize to share the spirt of Christmas.

“The thing I am most keen for is surprising my family and friends with this news at Christmas time,” he shared.

“We haven’t been able to have a big Christmas in years, so it’s going to be amazing to be able to get together again, and it’ll be even better now I’m a multi-millionaire.

“I want to be a bit like Santa this year. I am going to pop a decent sum of cash in some cards and give them to my family and friends and break the news of my division one win. It’ll be awesome.

“I’m a big four-wheel driver, so I can’t wait to get a new car too!”

The winning entry was purchased at Beaumaris News Lotto & Gifts, 2 South Concourse, Beaumaris.

Beaumaris News Lotto & Gifts Elisa Luo said her entire team was ecstatic to hear the winner had finally come forward and claimed his prize.

“It was so exciting when we found out about the win, and It’s even better now the winner has discovered the news,” she said.

“We’ll share this update with our customers, and I am sure they will be all be very happy for our winner.

“We’d love to send our congratulations to him. We wish him the very best!”
