Boondall brothers bond over $1.7 million Saturday Gold Lotto win
A pair of Boondall brothers have begun celebrating after winning division one in last night’s Saturday Gold Lotto $30 Million Megadraw.
The Brisbane siblings held one of the 17 division one winning entries nationally in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 3907, drawn on Saturday 29 December 2018. Each entry took home a division one prize of $1,764,705.89.
When we rang the brothers to confirm their win, there was a moment of excited panic as they scrambled to locate the winning ticket.
“That’s good! That’s awesome,” one brother exclaimed when the win was confirmed.
“It’s a marked entry. We’ve been using those numbers for years.
“This is just amazing. We’re going to have a 2019 we won’t forget.”
When asked how they might use their Megadraw million-dollar prize, the brothers said they would have to take a moment to think about it.
“First, I think we’ll celebrate the win today!” one man said.
“This is going to help us a lot. We can pay some bills and really get ahead.”
The winners, who to remain anonymous, purchase their marked 12-game entry at NightOwl Boondall, Shop 4, 1968 Sandgate Road, Boondall.
NightOwl Boondall owner Qi Chen said he was “overwhelmingly happy” his outlet had sold its first division one winning entry since he took over management in September last year.
“We’ve been telling everyone on social media and putting signs up in-store letting people know we’ve had a win in store,” he said.
“I put the win down to my lucky cat doll on the counter.
“I hope the winner has some great things planned for the future.”
