Bundaberg couple’s spur-of-the-moment decision leads to $868,000 Saturday Gold Lotto windfall
A Bundaberg couple says a spur-of-the-moment decision to grab an entry in the weekend’s Saturday Gold Lotto draw was the catalyst for their $868,000 win.
The Queenslanders were among six division one winning entries in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 4267, drawn Saturday 11 June 2022. Each winning entry scored a division one prize of $868,291.68.
Confirming their this morning, the champion couple said their incredible win would completely change their family’s lives.
“We’re loving every second now that I know we’ve won,” they said.
“You have no idea how much good this will do.
“We’re just so thankful.
“First thing is first; we’ll help out our family and we can’t wait to see the looks on their faces.
“Then who knows, a new home, a nice car, maybe even a fast motorbike!
“There’s been a lot of smiles and laughter around the house since Saturday night.
“We can’t believe it!
“Thank you so much!”
The couple’s winning 36-game QuickPick was purchased at Chippindalls Newsagency, 116 Bourbong Street, Bundaberg.
Chippindalls Newsagency Manager Amanda Zunker said she was overjoyed to have sold a division one winning entry.
“It’s actually unbelievable. We’re so excited!” she proclaimed.
“Our last division one winner was about five years ago so it’s been a long time coming.
“We’ve been letting our customers know about the win and it’s created a real buzz around the store.
“Congratulations to the incredible winners, have fun and really enjoy the moment!”
