Bundaberg woman ponders life as a millionaire after Saturday Gold Lotto win
A Bundaberg woman is slowing coming to the realisation she’s kicked off the week as a millionaire after taking home division one in the weekend’s Gold Lotto draw.
The regional Queenslander held one of the five division one winning entries across Australia in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 4197, drawn Saturday 9 October 2021. Each division one winning entry took home $1,234,399.86.
Confirming her win with us this morning, the stunned winner explained she’d spent Sunday struggling to come to terms with the news.
“That feels pretty good to hear!” she laughed.
“I checked the ticket online on Sunday morning, and I thought there must have been some kind of glitch in the system.
“There’s no way I thought it could be real.
“I didn’t want to get my hopes up, but I suppose I can get excited now!
“How amazing.”
With her lottery windfall about to hit her bank account, the Bundaberg resident said she was looking forward to the bliss of financial freedom.
“We’re trying to build a house at the moment, so hopefully, this will speed things along,” she explained.
“It certainly takes the pressure off in a big way!”
Her life-changing entry was purchased at Station News, 206 Bourbong Street, Bundaberg.
Station News owner Bronwyn Palmer said it was the first division one winning entry the outlet had sold.
“This is a very special milestone for us,” she explained.
“All our customers are so excited for us and also sad they aren’t the winner.
“Congratulations to the winner! We are so excited to have sold that ticket to you and we hope it will change your life in an exciting way!”
