A Campbelltown man has revealed he grabbed a ticket into the weekend’s X Lotto draw because it was his birthday and he felt lucky - but he never expected it to make him an overnight millionaire.

The Adelaide player held one of the four division one winning entries in Saturday X Lotto draw 4251, drawn Saturday 16 April 2022. Each division one winner took home $1,355,719.73.

This afternoon, we reached out to the winner, who relayed how the excitement unfollowed.

“I only play now and again. But it was my birthday the other weekend, so I bought a ticket because I was feeling a bit lucky,” he shared.

“It wasn’t until late Easter Sunday that I checked this ticket and discovered the win.

“I was in my man cave – my office –  doing some work, and I needed a quick break, so I just scanned the ticket online.

“The first thing I thought was, ‘What the f***!’. I scanned it about three times to be sure.

“I started sweating like crazy after that! There was probably a pool of sweat beneath me. I was so overwhelmed.

“I ran into the kitchen where some of my family was, and I just started screaming, ‘I won X Lotto! I won one million dollars!’.

“Everyone was so happy. It was amazing!

“We had a few drinks to celebrate that night. We’ll undoubtedly have a few more festivities once the money is in our account. It’s very, very cool!

“We’ll use the prize to pay off some bills and the kids’ schooling. We’d also love to go on an overseas holiday.

“The kids have been begging us to take them to Disneyland! So that’s what we’ll do later this year.”

The winner purchased his entry at Campbelltown Newsagency, Shop 5 / 618 Lower North East Road, Campbelltown.

Campbelltown Newsagency owner Ketan Patel said his team was celebrating selling their first division one winning entry.

“I couldn’t believe it when I found out,” he shared.

“I was thrilled! We’ve been letting all of our customers know the news.

“Our winner came in this morning to recheck his ticket, and he couldn’t believe it. He’s just so happy, and we’re so excited for him!

“I hope the winner enjoys his prize and can do some good with it.

“This is the first time we’ve sold a division one winning ticket, so we’re over the moon. We’ve finally done it! We can’t wait to sell another.”
