Close call for Croydon mum who almost forgot to check TattsLotto ticket worth $700,000
A Croydon woman almost didn’t check her TattsLotto ticket that delivered her a sensational $700,000 win on the weekend admitting she had ‘completely forgotten about it’ until yesterday evening. The Melburnian held one of the seven division one winning entries in TattsLotto draw 4465, drawn Saturday 4 May 2024 and looks forward to a total prize of $703,339.53. The chirpy mother shared she only bought lottery tickets now and then and never expected to take home division one with a ticket she’d purchased on a whim. “Oh my god! It’s crazy,” she laughed. “I have to call my daughter over to listen to this call – it’s so special. “I don’t even buy TattsLotto all the time. I had a couple of little wins in my purse, and I thought I’d claim a portion of it and then buy another TattsLotto ticket. “It feels ridiculous! This doesn’t really happen to people you know, and then it happens to you! “I am so hesitant about the ticket because it's unregistered. I keep saying to myself, ‘Where can I put this ticket? Where can I hide it?’. I just want to claim it! “I checked the ticket last night and surprisingly, I nearly forgot about it because I don’t buy them regularly. “I’ve told my kids and mum, but that’s probably all that I’ll tell. My youngest daughter and I will go for dinner tonight to celebrate. Keep it low-key! “I’ve already had a couple of glasses of bubbly last night to celebrate.” With $700,000 about to change the course of her year, the winning woman said the prospects of a family holiday and paying the house could be on the cards. “I really haven’t gotten my head around it all and I’m not exactly sure what I’ll do but I’d love to take my kids on a holiday,” she exclaimed. “I wouldn’t mind selling the house and upgrading as well. “Time will tell!” Her winning entry was purchased at TSG Eastland, Kisok K126, Eastland Shopping Centre, 171-175 Maroondah Highway, Ringwood. |
