Eight Bairnsdale shoppers have marched into the month sharing a $1.3 million windfall after their syndicate, called Bags of Cash, bagged division one in the weekend’s TattsLotto draw.

The store syndicate held one of the four division one winning entries in TattsLotto draw 4343 on Saturday 4 March 2023. Each division one winning entry scored $1,335,595.34.

In addition to the division one prize, the group’s 50-game System 7 QuickPick entry also scored division three 6 times and division six 4 times, boosting the total win to $1,341,514.54.

Each syndicate member receives a share worth $167,689.32.

However, some syndicate members may have yet to discover their good fortune and lottery officials are urging anyone who purchased an entry into the weekend’s TattsLotto draw to check their ticket.

The Bags of Cash syndicate was set up by Service Street Convenience, 21 Service Street, Bairnsdale.

Service Street Convenience owner Clyde Boyd said he was excited to see his outlet score its second division one win in 11 months.

“I was super surprised to get the message our syndicate had won. Our last division one win was a four-share syndicate in Monday & Wednesday Lotto,” he said.

“We will get the balloons and posters happening in-store this week, and as with our last win, we will run our four-week winners promo where we give away $2,000 cash to our customers to celebrate the win.

“We hope that this win will relieve any financial pressures our eight syndicate members may have and allow them to enjoy life a little more and indulge.

“It's enough money to have a great positive impact on the syndicate members and their families.

“For me, it's just an amazing feeling that we have been able to facilitate the distribution of $1.3 million into the local community. All our staff are excited for our customers, and this win just creates a great feeling for weeks to come.”
