Gayndah woman screams with glee after discovering $1.6 million Saturday Gold Lotto windfall
A Gayndah woman has declared she’s in the market for a brand-new shed to shelter her car after bagging more than $1.6 million in the weekend’s Saturday Gold Lotto draw.
The Queenslander held one of the three division one winning entries in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 4371, drawn Saturday 10 June 2023 and pocketed a total prize of $1,691,043.14.
“Oh my god! Thank you! I really needed some confirmation,” the winner laughed when we called to confirm her windfall.
“I discovered my win on Sunday morning and spent the day doing absolutely nothing because I was so stunned.
“It’s not something that’s very easy to comprehend.
“Thankfully, it’s sinking in now and I’m just over the moon!
“This is going to change everything. It hasn’t been easy for us but now it makes everything we’ve gone through worthwhile.
“I can’t get over it! You never expect anything like this to happen to you.
“I’ll be heading out to try and find a shed now! How exciting!”
The woman’s winning marked 24-game QuickPick entry was purchased at Gayndah Newsagency, 27 Capper Street, Gayndah.
Gayndah Newsagency team member Renee McGilvery said the whole team was blown away by the win.
“We can’t believe it! It’s fantastic to know we played a part in changing the life of one of our customers,” she said.
“We’ll be celebrating all week and for quite some time to follow, I reckon.
“The whole community is a buzz and the belief that you can really win division one is spreading.
“Congratulations to our winner and we hope they have a wonderful future.”
