Hardworking Bowhill farmer scores $1.3 million X Lotto win after “rough trot”
A Bowhill farmer who’s been through a “bit of a rough trot” is now looking forward to enjoying life as a millionaire after scoring division one in the weekend’s Saturday X Lotto draw.
The South Australian held one of the five division one winning entries across Australia in Saturday X Lotto draw 4183, drawn Saturday 21 August 2021. Each division one winning entry took home $1,304,946.92.
Sharing his excitement with an official from The Lott this afternoon, the happy winner explained he was still trying to comprehend the million-dollar news.
“I don’t know if I believe this,” he laughed.
“I don’t know what’s going on to be honest. Are you sure? Are you really sure?
“I checked my numbers online and I thought I might have won a lot of money, but I just couldn’t believe it.
“I am really stunned. I don’t know what to think, what to do, or how to feel right now.
“I am very, very overwhelmed.
“I have been playing for a long time but never had a win like this.
“I am very stunned. I just can’t comprehend the news.
“Now you’ve called, I am hoping it might start to sink in soon.
“I can’t believe I’m a millionaire!
“It will really make a great difference to my family. It’s been a bit of a rough trot for everyone, so it’s just fantastic.
“I might go and have a cup of tea, a biscuit and go and relax now that you’ve told me it’s true.
“I will definitely help out the family, but I am not sure what I will do with the rest.
“The rest will probably go towards upgrading our farm and my retirement.”
The winning 18-game QuickPick entry was purchased at Mannum Green IGA Fresh, 12 / 67 Adelaide Road, Mannum.
Mannum Green IGA Fresh owner John Naylor said he was thrilled to hear a local customer won a huge prize.
“How exciting is that?” he said.
“It’s not only great for our winner, but it’s fantastic for us and for our local community.
“So many people have been coming in and checking their tickets hoping it’s them, but they’re also so happy for whoever the winner may be, especially considering the year we’ve all had.
“We absolutely love to hear when a local customer wins. We can imagine how excited they must be knowing they’re about to receive that prize in their bank account.
“We’d love to send our congratulations. We hope this win makes a big difference to his life, and we are grateful for his support of the business.
“Fingers crossed our customers get to experience more division one wins.”
