Saturday Lotto win delivers festive boost to Campbelltown family
After a “terrible year”, a Campbelltown man says his Saturday Lotto division one win is the festive boost his family needs heading into 2021.
The southern Sydney man held one of the seven division one winning entries in Saturday Lotto draw 4111, drawn Saturday 12 December 2020. Each division one winning entry takes home $883,981.39.
Confirming his prize with us this morning, the happy man confessed he initially didn’t realise he’d won the big one.
“I actually looked at the results on Saturday night and saw that seven people had won it,” he explained.
“I thought ‘that’s bloody good, I’d love to be one of them’. I hadn’t checked my ticket so I didn’t realise I was one of them!
“I looked at the numbers on my ticket on Sunday morning. It’s just unbelievable. It’s very overwhelming.
“It’s been a terrible year. There’s been a whole bunch of worries around us. We haven’t had a good year at all. So to win at the end of all that is just a bit surreal. I just wasn’t expecting something like this.”
The loving husband and dad said the win was some “good news” to help start the new year.
“It’s a great Christmas boost,” he said.
“There still a little bit to pay off on the house. After that, it will help set my family up for the future.”
The winner’s System 7 QuickPick entry was purchased at Freechoice Tobacconist Ingleburn, Shop 7, Ingleburn Town Centre, 11 Nardoo Street, Ingleburn.
Freechoice Tobacconist Ingleburn manager Donna O’Neill said she was “over the moon” for her winner.
“We only started selling Lotto this year, so this is our first division one win. We certainly hope it is not our last!” she laughed.
“It's been a hard year for everyone and we're so glad our winner has been able to experience a positive gain in a year full of losses.
“We believe our customers are going to be so excited that someone in our community has won. It will be a spark of hope.
“We wish our winner all the best with such an amazing prize.”
