A Queanbeyan man has declared he will retire in 2019 after this morning’s shock discovery he is now a millionaire from winning division one in last night’s Saturday Lotto $30 Million Megadraw.

The player held one of the 17 division one winning entries nationally in Saturday Lotto draw 3907, drawn on Saturday 29 December 2018. Each entry took home a division one prize of $1,764,705.89.

In addition to winning division one, the man’s marked System 10 entry also won division three 24 times and division four 90 times, bolstering his total prize to $1,793,642.39.

When we rang the man this morning to deliver the life-changing news, he confessed it was “the best Sunday phone call I’ve ever had”.

“This is not a prank is it? This is just awesome!” he exclaimed.

“It’s a bit of a surprise on a Sunday morning. I’m not dreaming am I?

“I picked these numbers myself about eight years ago and I’ve played them ever since. But this is my first ever online entry as I couldn’t get to my normal outlet so thought I would try online.

“It’s unbelievable!”

Despite the news of his win still sinking in, the man had no hesitation about how he would use his Saturday Lotto windfall.

“I can retire now!” he declared.

“I imagine everyone sits there thinking about what they’d do if they won. Basically, I’ve always thought I would try and structure things so I wouldn’t have to physically do much work any more! Now I can!”

The winner, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased his marked System 10 entry online at www.thelott.com – Australia’s official lotteries.
