A Salisbury Park man has confessed he is even more excited about his future after winning over $574,000 in the weekend’s X Lotto draw – just two weeks shy of his retirement date.

The northern Adelaide resident held one of the seven division one winning entries nationally in X Lotto draw 3917, drawn Saturday 2 February 2019. Each entry took home a division one prize of $574,474.92.

Sharing his excitement with us this morning to claim his prize, the winner revealed his win had come at a perfect time.

“I’m retiring in two weeks’ time!” he declared.

“It will go straight into my super and boost it by a considerable amount.

“We’ve got a caravan so I might upgrade my 4WD before we go off on a few trips.

“This certainly means we can do it in style and takes the stress away!”

“It has come at the best time. I’ve worked hard all my life and I can’t wait to relax and enjoy my retirement.

“I’m going to make it work hard for me I can tell you that!”

The happy soon-to-be-retiree confessed he had a unique way of playing his favourite numbers.

“I play every Saturday and Tuesday and I have some fixed numbers,” he explained.

“I mark my set of six numbers and then I top up the rest of the games with a QuickPick.

“The numbers I put in are birthdays and my favourite numbers that seemed good at the time, the rest are just whatever the machine decides.

“I’ve been playing for a long, long time. In the end it was a QuickPick that won me the money!”

The regular player, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased his 36-game Top Up entry at Mawson Lakes Newsagency, Shop 12 Mawson Central, 9-15 Main Street, Mawson Lakes.
