Aussies were eager for the chance to start their 2023 as a newly-made millionaire, and thanks to Saturday Lotto’s $40 million Megadraw, that dream came true for a crowd of new winners. 

A total of 12 division one winning entries shared the $40 million division one prize. Each division one winning entry took home over $3.3 million each – one of the biggest Megadraw division one prizes we’ve ever seen!  

Here’s a rundown of how the wins landed: 

  • Of the 12 of the division one winning entries, four landed in both Queensland and Victoria, three in New South Wales and one in Western Australia.  
  • There were 10 individual ticket holders who became overnight multi-millionaires, while two syndicates will share their slice of the division one prize and enjoy a boost to their year ahead. 
  • The winning numbers in draw 4325 on 31 December 2022 were 11, 23, 35, 42, 20 and 45, while the supplementary numbers were 8 and 38. 
  • There were over 3.9 million wins in divisions 2 to 6 who collectively took home more than $49 million in prize money. Make sure you check your tickets to see if you had a win!  

As winners discovered their Megadraw windfalls there was shock, tears, disbelief and cheers!   

One winner from Springfield checked her ticket in the early hours of New Year’s Day and was stunned when she saw she was now a multi-millionaire. Adding to her disbelief was the fact that a small win on an Instant Scratch-Its ticket led to her $3.3 million prize.  

“It was just a spur-of-the-moment decision to get this ticket because I’d won on the Scratchie.” the winning woman told us. 

“I checked it at about 1am on New Year’s Day. I was in disbelief. I was so shocked. I was almost having a panic attack – I couldn’t breathe! 

“We’re going to use the prize to help my family and we’re thinking of perhaps buying a new house.”  

Another man from Denistone also picked up his division one winning ticket due to a previous win! The winning man couldn’t believe his eyes and kept checking the app to look at his multimillion-dollar winning ticket.  

“I actually bought this ticket using a win I had on Saturday Lotto the week before!” the man said. 

“Every year around New Year’s Eve, I say, ‘this is going to be our year’, and bloody hell, this will be our year! 

“First thing’s first, we’ll get our own roof over our heads and no longer rent, and then everything else is the cream on top.”
