A Toowoomba retiree has set her sights on a new car and a new fridge after scoring division one in last weekend’s Saturday Gold Lotto draw.

The Darling Downs resident held one of the seven division one winning entries in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 4323, drawn Saturday 24 December 2022. Each division one winning entry scored $823,588.63.

“I only discovered this on Christmas Day in the afternoon,” the winning woman exclaimed when confirming her prize with an us.

“Christmas Eve we’d been busy, and then we had lunch on Christmas Day. It was only in the afternoon that I looked at my emails and saw a message saying I’d won something.

“I thought I might have won $700 or something like that. When I checked it, I thought, ‘oh my god!”. When it said I’d won more than $823,000, I nearly slipped over.

“I’ve been playing for years and years. I can’t quite believe I’ve finally won.

“With this prize, I want to get a new car and a new fridge. They both need an upgrade. I also want to help my family.

“This means a lot to me. It means we won’t have to worry about a thing ever again!”

The woman’s winning 12-game QuickPick entry was purchased at news extra Central City, Shop 1, 245 Margaret Street, Toowoomba.

“We are so excited to have helped to change someone’s life,” he said.
