Oaklands Park man’s eyes pop over $659,000 X Lotto revelation
An Oaklands Park man has admitted he checked his Saturday X Lotto ticket ‘100 times’ when he discovered his $650,000 windfall from the weekend’s draw.
The South Australian held one of the eight division one winning entries in Saturday X Lotto draw 4369, drawn Saturday 3 June 2023 and took home a total division one prize of $659,898.66.
The winning ticket is unregistered, which meant we had no way of contacting the winner to confirm the news and had to wait for the ticketholder to check their ticket and come forward.
“It’s unbelievable,” the winning wife exclaimed when we spoke to the pair.
“My husband discovered the win on the weekend. We were having an ordinary Sunday morning, and then suddenly, he told me that we might’ve won division one in X Lotto!
“He checked the ticket about 100 times – he wasn’t too sure if it was real!
“We’re still in shock. It’s hard to comprehend.
“We’ve already hit the town and celebrated the win. We went to the local pub for dinner!
“We’re not too sure what to do with the prize. There are so many options!
“It will go to good use though, and we will have fun.”
Their winning entry was purchased at Campbell’s Newsagency, Shops 1012/1013 Westfield Marion, 297 Diagonal Road, Oaklands Park.
Campbell’s Newsagency lotteries supervisor Chenni Herbert said their team was thrilled to have sold another division one winning entry in less than seven months.
“We’re so happy to have sold another division one winning entry and it’s great to hear that the division one win went to a local couple who has supported us for years!” she said.
“It was only in December last year that we sold a division one winning entry in Monday & Wednesday X Lotto. Our customers have told us that they see us as a lucky store, which is nice.
“This brings our total tally to four major lottery wins since I’ve been at Campbell’s Newsagency – it’s truly an amazing feeling changing the lives of many customers.
“Congratulations to the winning couple and we wish them all the best with their prize!”
