Port Lincoln woman’s “$25 win” turns out to be an almost million-dollar X Lotto prize
A Port Lincoln woman who initially thought she’d won a $25 prize on her Saturday X Lotto ticket has been left stunned by the revelation she scored an almost-million-dollar bounty.
The South Australian held one of the six division one winning entries across Australia in Saturday X Lotto draw 4151, drawn Saturday 1 May 2021. She scores a division one prize of $974,297.53.
When we made contact with the woman in her 50s this morning to confirm her division one win, she was adamant she’d only won a division four prize.
“I checked my ticket this morning. I crossed the numbers off on my ticket and saw I’d won $25,” she explained.
“Oh, get out! Are you serious? Division one!? Blooming heck! Are you for real?
“I just can’t believe it.
“I don’t know how I mistook the numbers, but it was early in the morning. I don’t know how I didn’t see it!
“I’m bewildered!
“Oh my god. It’s just so hard to believe. I’ve been playing those numbers for a while, but it’s something you don’t expect to happen!”
While still wrapping her head around the X Lotto revelation, the winning woman revealed she did have some initial thoughts for the prize.
“I think my working days may be numbered!” she laughed.
“I’ll be able to give up work and help my family.”
The life-changing marked 12-game entry was purchased at newsXpress Beer’s Port Lincoln, 46-47 Tasman Terrace, Port Lincoln.
newsXpress Beer’s Port Lincoln owner Joy Whennen said the win was great news for the community.
“How good it is to have a winner in Port Lincoln!” she exclaimed.

“We’ve been a lotto outlet for 37 years and during that time have sold several division one winning tickets.
