Portland couple welcome $1 million TattsLotto windfall with champagne shower
An emotional Portland woman hopes to shower her husband in champagne this evening to break the news she won more than $1 million in the weekend’s TattsLotto draw.
The Victorian held one of the six division one winning entries nationally in TattsLotto draw 4205, drawn Saturday 6 November 2021. Each division one winning entry scored $1,015,392.69.
This is the first division one win in Portland so far this year.
After trying to contact the pair yesterday, we finally got onto the overjoyed wife this morning to break the exciting news.
“Oh my god! Oh my god! Oh my god!” she cried happily.
“I’m a millionaire?! What the hell! Please tell me this isn’t a prank! Please tell me you aren’t joking!
“You have no idea what this means. This is making me cry so much.
“I’m feeling really lightheaded. I think I am going to pass out, I need to sit down!
“My heart feels like it’s about to beat out of my chest. I think I might be having a heart attack!
“Thank you so much. This is an absolute blessing!
“Oh my god. I can’t wait to tell my husband. I need a fun way to let him know! Maybe I will do champagne showers and tell him we’re millionaires.
“We might also plan a dinner with some friends and our family tonight to celebrate too. It’ll be low-key, but still fun!”
When asked how they might enjoy their million-dollar win, the emotional woman could only think of two things.
“Well, we definitely will help our family a bit,” she shared.
“This will definitely be used so we can really enjoy our retirement in the future too.
“I’m so overwhelmed though that I am not really sure what I’ll do. What can’t I do, is the question?”
Her winning marked 12-game entry was purchased at Matt's Lotto Cards & Gifts, 102 Percy Street, Portland.
Matt's Lotto Cards & Gifts owner Matthew Jowett said he was celebrating making one of his local customers a division one winner.
“Isn’t it fantastic?!” he said.
“We’ve popped up some balloons and streamers and we’ve been sharing the news with all of our customers. They are all so excited and hoping they’re next to buy a division one winning ticket from our outlet.
“We last sold a division one win about 15 months ago. It was an Oz Lotto store syndicate and we had ten customers share in over $12 million. It was awesome!
“The entire team would love to congratulate the winning pair. We hope it brings them so much happiness and joy.
“We love hearing about Portland locals winning and we can’t believe we’re the ones to have sold the division one winning ticket.”
