A Sunbury man admits his retirement plans might be brought forward after scoring $1.3 million in the weekend’s TattsLotto draw.

The Victorian held one of the four division one winning entries in TattsLotto draw 4279, drawn 23 July 2022. Each division one winning entry scored $1,362,315.17.

In addition to winning division one, the man’s System 9 entry also won division three 18 times, division four 45 times and division six 20 times, bolstering his total win to $1,380,301.87.

“I checked my ticket on Saturday night and I kept looking at it to make sure,” the winner recounted when speaking to us this morning.

“I first thought I’d only won $1,300, but then I thought, ‘there’s too many numbers there’. That’s when I realised it was $1.3 million.

“I just couldn’t believe it. I said to my wife, ‘look at this!’. She couldn’t believe it either.

“I got this System 9 entry as a QuickPick a few months ago, and I didn’t even get one number from it. But I’ve kept playing those numbers ever since. I’m glad I did!

“The family says we’ve got to spoil ourselves. I might look at working less leading up to retirement, and my wife and I will think about how best to enjoy it.

“I’ve never really thought of myself as a lucky person, but my family have started calling me a millionaire now! It feels strange to be called a millionaire, but it does feel good.”

His winning System 9 entry was purchased online at thelott.com – the official home of Australia’s lotteries.
