Retirement starts now for Caloundra tradie after Saturday Gold Lotto win
The Sunshine Coast suddenly has one less working tradie, with a local man promising he’ll never work another day in his life after winning almost $2 million in Saturday night’s Gold Lotto draw.
The Caloundra resident held one of the five division one winning entries nationally in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 4045 on Saturday 25 April 2020. Each division one winning entry takes home a prize of $1,982,910.00.
Confirming his life-changing win with us this morning, the man said he was completely oblivious to his prize until he checked his ticket today.
“Oh wow!” he laughed with disbelief.
“That’s great news!
“Wow. I deserve this. I’ve had a rough few years.
“I can’t believe this. This is unreal.
“I’m waiting for the news to hit me.
“My heart is jumping out of my chest. I had no idea. I can’t think. I feel like my head is going to explode!
“What a way to start the week. Every week I think it could be my week to win the lottery and now it is! I have been playing for years and years.”
When asked how he planned to enjoy his Gold Lotto loot, the Caloundra man said it would make a huge difference to his future plans.
“This will change my life so much,” he said.
“I’m not going to work another day. I will be retiring immediately!
“I’ll buy myself a beautiful new home here on the Sunshine Coast.
“And I am going to get myself a new car and a new boat!
“This is absolutely unreal!”
The overwhelmed winner purchased his winning at Caloundra Newsagency, Shop 1, 72 Bullcock Street, Caloundra.
Caloundra Newsagency owner Carrie Macfarlane said they were over-the-moon to learn they had sold another division one winning entry.
“It was only in February that we sold the $60 million Powerball winning entry,” she explained.
“We certainly feel as though we’re on a winning streak! It’s fantastic to sell another life-changing entry to a local.
“Congratulations to him! We hope he really enjoys his prize.”
