Salisbury Plains woman tells the bank to get lost after $2.5 million Saturday X Lotto
A Salisbury Plains woman is looking forward to telling the bank their finance is no longer needed after scoring a division one prize worth over $2.5 million in the weekend’s Saturday X Lotto draw.
The South Australian held one of the three division one winning entries nationally in Saturday X Lotto draw 4107, drawn Saturday 28 November 2020. Each entry takes home a division one prize worth $2,579,223.01.
Sharing her excitement with us this morning, the winner recounted how she discovered her life-changing win.
“It’s a bit exciting! Thank you! It hasn’t sunk in yet I don’t think!” she exclaimed.
“It’s definitely life-changing.
“I was at home on Saturday night, and I walked passed my handbag, and it reminded me to check my ticket.
“I checked the first one, and it won $8, and then I checked the next one, and all the fancy confetti stuff came up on the phone.
“I didn’t have my glasses on so I didn’t realise what it said.
“I took it into my husband to have a look at and I don’t think he’s ever raced out of bed so quickly.
“We scanned it again and I had the shakes. I couldn’t believe it. I didn’t sleep for the rest of the night!”
The regular player also revealed she had been playing the same numbers for several decades.
“I’ve been playing those same numbers for 21 years,” she explained.
“I won division three on it a few years ago, and then a couple of years back, I won division two.
“I knew I was working my way up to division one and now I’ve got it!
“I’ll definitely keep playing! It’s just something I do every week!”
When asked how she planned to enjoy life as a multi-millionaire, the humble winner said she was hoping to keep life as normal as possible.
“We’ll still keep working and go about our daily lives but it will be amazing to be able to help our family,” she said.
“I want to give some to my parents and sister to help them out.
“We are actually in the process of building a new home and I’m looking forward to telling the bank we no longer need their help.
“We had a pretty tight budget but now I’ll be able to upgrade to all the extras and get my dream house.”
The happy winner, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased her winning entry at Foodland Martins Road, Shop 7, 237 Martins Road, Parafield Gardens.
Foodland Parafield Gardens Store Manager Catrina Violi said her team was excited to discover their outlet had sold a division one winning entry.
“We were jumping up and down when we heard the news! We feel so proud our store sold a division one winning entry!” she exclaimed.
“We are still in disbelief that is has come from our store! We have no words to describe our feelings! This will definitely be added to our collection of milestones.
“We have decorated the store with balloons and posters to celebrate, and we will be telling all of our customers the good news.
“We think they are going to be completely over the moon!
“We haven’t sold a division one winning entry for 15 years, so we are thrilled to have finally broken our drought.
“Congratulations to our winner! From the whole team at Parafield Gardens, we are sending you all our love and joy!
“We are so thrilled for you, and we wish you nothing but happiness!”
