Seaford woman almost didn’t purchase winning Saturday X Lotto ticket worth $860,000!
More than five days after the draw, a Seaford woman has claimed her $860,000 division one win, admitting she almost didn’t purchase her winning ticket in the weekend’s draw.
The South Australian player held one of the six division one winning entries nationally in Saturday X Lotto draw 4267, drawn Saturday 11 June 2022, and takes home $868,324.88.
The division one winning entry was unregistered, so we had no way of contacting the winner and had to wait for the ticketholder to come forward and claim their prize.
The gleeful young woman was enjoying a movie with her husband on Saturday night when she remembered to check her Saturday X Lotto ticket and was left stunned by the revelation.
“Oh my god. I’ve had the greatest weekend!” she laughed.
“My husband and I were having a movie night on Saturday. Throughout the movie, I remembered I put a ticket on for the Saturday X Lotto draw.
“I scanned the ticket on The Lott app, and I was left shaking! I couldn’t believe it.
“My husband had left the living room, and I started frantically knocking on his door to tell him the winning news – we were shocked.
“We immediately called our mums to tell them the winning news. While my mum believed me, my mother-in-law thought it was a prank. She kept saying, ‘Are you sure? Are you sure?’.
“It’s such a wonderful and exciting thing to happen to us. When I purchase lottery tickets, I never expect to win. Even when we win a smaller prize, we’re still over the moon.
“It’s funny, I almost didn’t purchase the lottery ticket, but we were walking past the newsagency in Seaford, and we saw the Saturday X Lotto offer was $5 million, so we had to do it.”
When asked how she planned to enjoy her good fortune, the South Australian shared it would help pay off her bills.
“The first thing we will do is pay off our house mortgage, and with the cost-of-living rising day by day, this will help us tremendously,” she proclaimed.
“We will celebrate with a bottle of champagne, and potentially go out for dinner this Saturday!”
Her winning entry was purchased at Seaford Lotteries Kiosk, K6 / Seaford Shopping Centre, Commercial Road, Seaford.
