A South Melbourne man will need a double dose of caffeine this morning after he confessed to a having a sleepless night following the discovery he scored a $1 million prize in last night’s Monday & Wednesday Lotto draw.

The Victorian player held one of the two division one winning entries across Australia in Monday & Wednesday Lotto draw 3954, drawn Monday 9 March 2020. They each take home a division one prize of $1 million.

Confirming his life-changing win with us this morning the tired, but happy, man said he hadn’t had much sleep after discovering the news.

“I realised I had won last night. I haven’t slept a wink since!” he exclaimed.

“I think I’m still in shock. I couldn’t believe it.

“It wasn’t until quite late at night that I decided to check my ticket. When I logged on to my account, I definitely did a double take when I saw I had a win.

“We play every week using the same numbers. My partner chose them years ago using her family’s birthdates.

“We nearly didn’t put the ticket on. I bought it just before the draw close which was good. I would have been in trouble if I had forgotten and our numbers came up!”

When asked how he planned to enjoy his life as a newly-minted millionaire, the thrilled winner confessed it would help him realise his dream of owning his home debt free.

“It will pay off the house!” he declared.

“It will be good to be debt free and own our home. It will really help us get ahead for the future.

“We’d love to go on a holiday somewhere too. We haven’t thought about where yet as it is all still sinking in.”

The happy man admitted he was still planning on fronting up to work today but would be doing so in a good mood.

“We’ll still both go to work today despite no sleep!” he laughed.

“We’ll get through the day and then work out how we are going to celebrate the news!”.

The stoked bloke, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased his winning 5-game marked entry online at thelott.com – Australia’s official lotteries.
