A Sunnybank man admits he’ll struggle to find a better finale to future holidays after a trip across Australia saw him return home to a $648,000 Saturday Gold Lotto win.

The triumphant traveller held one of the eight division one winning entries in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 4369, drawn Saturday 3 June 2023. Each entry took home $648,166.91.

“Tell you what, this phone call is a nice way to finish an extended holiday,” the winner laughed when we called and confirmed his windfall.

“We were travelling across Australia and a relative called me out of the blue and said, ‘I think you’ve won the lottery’.

“I laughed at the time but decided to wait until we arrived home to check the entry.

“I don’t know how I’ll top this in future!

“It feels amazing though and it’s going to make our lives a lot easier.

“I’m not far from retirement so maybe I can look at doing that sooner, or just cut back on the amount I work.

“I can’t believe it now you’ve said it actually.

“I thought about changing these numbers only a couple of months ago after not winning anything for about twenty years.

“Gee, I’m glad I stuck with them now!

“Thanks so much, this is life-changing.”

The winning entry was purchased at Sunnybank Hills News, Shop 18 Sunnybank Hills Shopping Centre, Corner of Calam & Compton Roads, Sunnybank Hills.
