A Brighton woman has declared discovering she scored a $1.5 million division one prize in the weekend’s TattsLotto Megadraw was the perfect antidote to the recent ‘gloomy news’.

The thrilled winner held one of the 19 division one winning entries nationally in TattsLotto draw 4117, drawn Saturday 2 January 2020. Each entry takes home a division one prize worth $1,578,947.37.

Sharing her excitement with us the Bayside woman recounted the moment she discovered the life-changing win.

“I just couldn’t believe it!” she exclaimed.

“It wasn’t until about 11pm on Saturday that I remembered to check my ticket.

“I was bored because we don’t go out much these days with everything going on and I thought I’d keep myself occupied by checking my ticket.

“When I looked at it and realised I had won, I just couldn’t believe it.

“It’s come at the perfect time. It’s so nice to have something exciting happen instead of all of the gloomy news we’ve been having lately.

“I play often, but when I was out last weekend, I had a niggling feeling I really needed to get a ticket for this draw.

“I don’t know what it was, but something was telling me I needed an entry. Look what happened! It was meant to be!”

When asked how she planned to enjoy her life as a newly-minted millionaire, the loving woman said it was her family she thought of first.

“I haven’t decided what I’ll do with it, but I know I’ll share it with my family!” she declared.

“Maybe I’ll go on holiday when I can. We can’t travel much at the moment, but one day when the borders open, I’d love to get away.

“I’m a hard-working person, and I worked for 50 years before retiring so I’m not used to having things for free. I still can’t believe it!”

The regular player, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased her winning 36-game QuickPick entry at Middle Brighton Newsagency, 75-77 Church Street, Brighton.

Middle Brighton Newsagency owner Tim Scully said he was delighted one of his customers had won division one.

“We will be sharing the good news with customers this week to lift people’s spirits!

“Our customers will be so happy to hear a local has won even though they might be disappointed they didn’t win themselves.

“We’ve been here four years and this is the first division one winning entry we’ve sold.

“Congratulations to our winner! We hope she enjoys her prize!”
