Tumby Bay man’s winning feeling delivers $2.1 million Saturday X Lotto win
While a Tumby Bay man admits he had an inkling he might win a prize in the weekend’s Saturday X Lotto, he was still floored by his $2.1 million windfall.
The Eyre Peninsula resident held one of the 14 division one winning entries across the country in Saturday X Lotto draw 4281, drawn Saturday 30 July 2022.
Each division one winning entry pocketed $2,142,857.15.
“You know what? I just had a feeling I might win something,” the man cried when we confirmed his prize.
“Even when I got this ticket, I just had a feeling I’d win something.
“But I thought it might be $1,000 or something like that, not over $2 million!
“Oh wow! Oh gosh! This is something else.
“I’ll never forget this day!
“I’m going to share the prize with my wife and kids.
“There’s also a few organisations I support and I’d love to help them out a little bit more. Now I can.”
His winning 12-game QuickPick was purchased at Neindorf’s Friendly Grocer, Cnr Lipson Road and North Terrace, Tumby Bay.
Neindorf’s Friendly Grocer owner Paul Neindorf said the division one win was the talk to the community.
“It’s very exciting,” he said.
“Many, many years ago when we first took over, we sold a division one winning ticket. That was probably about 25 years ago. It was high time for another one and I kept telling customers we were due.
“We’ve sold a few division two and nice divisional prizes, but this takes the cake.
“It’s fantastic for a little country town like us.”
