A man from Wonthaggi has declared 2023 is going to be his year after discovering he’s now a multi-millionaire from the weekend’s TattsLotto draw.

The Victorian was oblivious to his good fortune until we contacted him on New Year’s Day.

“Are you joking?!” he exclaimed when the enormity of his prize was revealed.

“This is not a joke? Sh**!

“It comes as a shock! This is a lot to take in!

“You have no idea how much this means to me. I’m going to get a new home for my family.

“I’m crying! 2023 is my year!”

The man’s winning marked 10-game entry was purchased at Lucky Lotto Wonthaggi Plaza, Kiosk 4, Wonthaggi Plaza, 2 Biggs Drive, Wonthaggi.

Lucky Lotto Wontaggi Plaza owners Gio and Robyn Fantin said they were ready to celebrate the local win.

Essendon dad’s New Year’s Eve celebrations boosted by $3.3 million TattsLotto win

A man from Essendon had an extra reason to celebrate on the weekend after discovering he was now a TattsLotto multi-millionaire moments before midnight on New Year’s Eve.

“It’s crazy!” he declared when we confirmed his win.

“I knew I’d won after about 11pm on New Year’s Eve. I was just going through The Lott app.

“I saw a little icon that I’d had a win, but thought it was probably $30 or something – not $3 million!

“When I opened it up and saw all the numbers lit up! I just couldn’t believe it.

“I told my wife we’d won, but she didn’t believe me.

“I didn’t sleep that night at all. I went to bed at 3am and got up at 4am to check the ticket again.”

The regular TattsLotto player shared he’d marked his winning entry using the same numbers he played each week.

“I’m going to be using this to pay off the house and invest the money for the kids.

“I’m sure there’ll be a holiday in there somewhere too!

“I think I’m still in shock!”

The man’s marked 12-game entry was purchased online at thelott.com – the official home of Australia’s lotteries.

“I’ve been playing the same numbers for a number of years. Eventually they’ve come up and it’s at just the right time.

“I got a bit teary in the eyes.”
