Westlake man ready to drive into 2022 with $2.3 million Gold Lotto win
A Westlake man has already begun hunting for his dream set of wheels after winning a $2.3 million prize on New Year’s Eve.
The Brisbane resident held one of the 17 division one winning entries in Gold Lotto draw 4221 on Friday 31 December 2021. Each division one winning entry scored $2,352,941.18.
“You’re making me shake. Now it’s starting to feel real,” the winning man exclaimed when an official from The Lott confirmed his win.
“It’s legendary! Thank you very much.
“Funnily enough, on New Year’s Eve, we just thought we’d check my ticket.
“My wife checked it and said, ‘you’ve won division one, you’ve won $2,300!’. But that didn’t sound right, so we looked again, and it actually said $2.3 million!
“Mate, that was so cool. The New Year’s Eve party just continued after that. We didn’t get to bed until 2.30am, and then we got up at 5am on New Year’s Day.
“We’re going to be totally debt-free! We’ll pay off the mortgage and be debt-free.
“I’m also going to buy the dream car I’ve always wanted. I’ve already started looking, and I think I’ve found it.”
His winning 50-game QuickPick was purchased at Middle Park News and Gifts, Shop 13, Park Village Shopping Centre, 92 Horizon Drive, Middle Park.
Middle Park News and Gifts owner Duc Thang Nguyen said it was great to see another division one win at his outlet.
“We last sold a Gold Lotto division one winning entry in September 2019, so it’s great to have another one. Everyone’s happy to see the win land in the community,” he said.
“What a special time to win – in the last minutes of 2021 – and a great way to welcome the new year.
“We wish our winner all the best with their amazing new year gift!”
