Just when a Whitsundays man thought his family holiday couldn’t get any better, he ended up landing an exhilarating $700,000 win in the weekend’s Saturday Gold Lotto draw.

The North Queenslander held one of the seven division one winning entries in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 4465, drawn Saturday 4 May 2024 and looks forward to a total prize of $712,882.63.

The coastal resident wasted no time answering the winning phone call on Sunday morning – setting him up for a sensational long weekend ahead.

“Holy s***! That’s amazing!” he cheered.

“How much is it again? Seven hundred thousand dollars?!  

“At first, I thought it was seven hundred dollars. Wow!

“I’ve been playing for four years now; I have a consistent System every week with the same numbers. They consist of family birthdates, and I play Powerball, Saturday Lotto and Oz Lotto.

“I don’t think I’ll really tell anyone except for my wife. 

“We were travelling through Bowen on our holiday, and I decided to pop into the local supermarket to purchase a ticket. I can’t believe it.”

With more than $700,000 about to transform his plans around for the rest of the year, the chirpy father shared the win would help him settle the mortgage. 

“It will help pay off the house which is really exciting,” he said.

“We will definitely continue the holiday, that’s for sure!”

His winning marked System 8 entry was purchased at Bowen Convenience Store, 93 Powell Street, Bowen.
