A Yatala couple were puzzled when their adult children urged them to check their Saturday Gold Lotto ticket, only to discover it held a $780,000 prize.

The Queensland residents held one of the seven division one winning entries nationally in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 4355, drawn Saturday 15 April 2023. Their winning entry scored a total prize of $783,459.23.

“Oh my goodness! This still hasn’t sunk in for us. It’s absolutely incredible!” the winning wife said when we confirmed their windfall.

“It’s going straight to my children and grandchildren. It’s doing to so much good for them and really set my family up for success in the future.

“One of the kids saw the post on Facebook asking players to check their tickets and was immediately on the phone to us.

“We thought, ‘there’s no way we’re going to be the winners’.

“Yet, when we checked the numbers, there they were.

“We were absolutely gobsmacked!

“There was a lot of screaming and crying over FaceTime when I was telling the kids last night.

“It’s such an amazing thing to experience!

“Thank you so much, this is going to go a long way.”

Their winning entry was purchased at Ormeau Village Newsagency, Shop 6, 37-59 Eggersdorf Road, Ormeau.

The Ormeau Village Newsagency team said they were over the moon for their winning customers and wished them all the best for the future.

The winning numbers in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 4355 on 17 April 2023 were 23, 4, 16, 31, 39 and 43, while the supplementary numbers were 17 and 18.
