Doreen family’s decade-long lottery numbers deliver $1.3 million TattsLotto win
A Doreen couple’s life has been flipped upside after they scored a wondrous $1.3 million win in the weekend’s TattsLotto draw with lottery numbers they’ve played for more than three decades.
The north-east Melburnians held one of the four division one winning entries in TattsLotto draw 4343, drawn Saturday 4 March 2023 and took home a total division one prize of $1,335,594.34.
“Far out! That’s unreal!” the winning man cheered while on his way to The Lott’s head office to claim his windfall.
“We’ve barely had any sleep. It’s life changing.
“I discovered the win when I checked my emails on Sunday morning while having a coffee. It’s my Sunday morning ritual.
“I thought it was bizarre when I received an email from The Lott to check my entry in-store.
“I rushed to the local newsagency, and the team member gave me the winning numbers. When I saw what the winning numbers were, I yelled out, ‘Holy crap!’.
“I’ve been playing the same lottery numbers since I was 18, and now I’m in my 40s!
“Funnily enough, when I bought the ticket, I told the team member at Laurimar News & Lotto ‘to give me the winning one!’ and she certainly delivered.
“We’ve since gone back to the newsagency to tell the team that we’ve won, and the manager started to cry, which is very sweet. We’ve visited the same newsagency for years.”
With $1.3 million about to boost their bank account, the Victorian couple shared their exciting plans.
“We’re a young family, so we have many plans in mind to set us up for the future,” he exclaimed.
“We’re going to pay off the mortgage and go on a family holiday overseas to Fiji!
“My wife has already picked out her new car, and we might even go check it out today!
“Thank you so much.”
Their winning marked 18-game entry was purchased at Laurimar News & Lotto, Shop 8, Laurimar Town Centre, 95 Hazel Glen Drive, Doreen.
