A Mount Cotton dad says he’s received the best phone call of his life, answering the phone to news he’s started the week as a millionaire. 

The Redlands resident held one of the three division one winning entries across the country in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 4065 on Saturday 4 July 2020. Each entry won a division one prize of $1,536,277.70. 

This morning we contacted the retiree, who had no idea he’d scored division one. “Thank you!” he cried with happiness. 

“I could kiss you! I’m looking at it here on my app. I cannot believe what I’m seeing. 

“This is great news. It’s fantastic! 

“I’ve always dreamt about this happening! I’ve been playing most of my life. 

“My wife doesn’t believe it, she thinks it’s a prank. 

“This is the best phone call of my life. This will be a life-changer for sure!” 

When asked how he might enjoy life as a millionaire, the loving dad thought of his family. 

“I’ve always said to my children should I one day win the lottery I will be able to help them out and now I can so that’s great,” he said. 

“We’ve got a few bills so something like this will really help us out. 

“We will probably do a bit more travel when we can. My wife and I have a few places on the bucket list that we really want to see. 

“We will certainly be enjoying it during our retirement, there’s no doubt about that.”
