“Bloody hell!”: $1.5 million TattsLotto win sends West Gippsland man walking around in circles
A West Gippsland man says he’ll no longer be spending the morning at the gym and instead plans to crack a beer to celebrate starting 2021 as a millionaire.
The thrilled winner held one of the 19 division one winning entries nationally in TattsLotto draw 4117, drawn Saturday 2 January 2020. Each entry takes home a division one prize worth $1,578,947.37.
When we called the Victorian winner this morning, he was completely oblivious to his windfall.
“Thank you!” he managed eventually.
“I’m walking around in circles.
“I can’t believe what you’re telling me!
“Things like this just don’t happen to people like me. Bloody hell!
“I just got dressed to head to the gym, but I will be giving that a miss! I think I will have to have a beer instead to celebrate.
“This is massive. It is life-changing in a very big way!”
When asked how he planned to enjoy his million-dollar fortune, the newly-minted millionaire said he’d use it to simply enjoy life. “Well first of all, I will be able to help a few people out,” he said.
“Maybe I’ll buy myself a new house or maybe I’ll just pay someone to renovate this house.
“I do love where I live! I might just get rid of my old furniture and fill the house with new furniture.
“I am always so careful with my money. I always have to budget but this will change my life completely.
“The rest of my life will be so much easier!”
The regular player, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased his winning marked System 7 entry online at thelott.com – Australia’s official lotteries.
