2019 to be a ‘game-changer’ for Kambah mum after $1.7 million win
A Kambah mum is re-evaluating her plans for 2019 after discovering she won a ‘game-changing’ $1.7 million in the weekend’s Saturday Lotto $30 Million Megadraw.
The winner held one of the 17 division one winning entries nationally in Saturday Lotto draw 3907, drawn on Saturday 29 December 2018. Each entry took home a division one prize of $1,764,705.89.
There was complete silence on the other end of the phone when we confirmed the life-changing news to the hard working mum this afternoon.
“Wow, I didn’t think this sort of thing happened in real life,” she eventually confessed.
“My mother had mentioned to me the other day that there was an unclaimed ticket from the newsagency where I had bought my entry.
“And I thought, ‘I haven’t checked mine yet, imagine that.’
“I can’t believe it is actually me!”
The woman explained she was not a regular player and was struggling to believe she’d be starting 2019 as a millionaire.
“We have a big family, and we’ve been a bit stressed about money so it will be amazing to pay off the mortgage and pay some bills,” she said.
“I haven’t thought beyond that though. This is very unexpected and will certainly change our plans for the year.
“We’re going to be debt free. This is a game changer!”
The winner, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased her winning 50-game QuickPick at Kambah Newsagency, 21-3 Primmer Court, Kambah Village Shopping Centre, Kambah.
Kambah Newsagency owner Vir Krishna Gogia said selling another division one winning entry was a dream come true.
“We’re so excited about this! It’s been three years since we sold a division one winning entry,” he explained.
“I had a feeling that this draw was the draw we’d sell a winning entry in. I told so many of my customers this, and I was right.
“We wish our customer all the very best!”
