Unbridled joy for Latrobe mum after TattsLotto win
A single mum from Latrobe who confessed to ‘doing it tough’ for the past few decades is breathing a sigh of relief today after discovering her $940,000 TattsLotto win.
The Tasmanian held one of the four division one winning entries nationally in TattsLotto draw 3955, drawn Saturday 17 June 2019.
Each winner takes home a division one prize of $942,419.40. Sharing her joy with us this afternoon, the thrilled winner confessed the win would enable her to realise a long-held dream of owning horses.
“I discovered the news when I was home alone on the computer so I did my triumphant dance on my own!” she laughed.
“I’m pretty happy about the win. It feels pretty good to know I’ll have that amount of money in my bank account soon!
“I’ll probably help the kids out by buying them a home.
“I’ll also put a lot of it towards improving my own property. It’s a bit run down and in need of good fencing.
“Once I’ve done that I’ll be able to get some horses again!
“I’ve been a single parent doing it extremely hard for years and I’ve not been able to afford to have my beloved horses.
“That will be changing now! It has come at the perfect time! There is absolutely no doubt I’ll be putting it to good use!
“I’ll celebrate with my kids tonight and I’m sure there will be some champagne!”
The regular player admitted her life-changing win almost didn’t come to be.
“I play pretty regularly but on my last few games I hadn’t won anything. I said to myself ‘this is the last time you are going to buy a ticket’,” she revealed.
“I was planning on not buying any more but lo and behold look what happened.
“I’m not sure if I’ll keep playing. I might play occasionally but I’m not greedy so this will probably do me!”
The thrilled woman, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased her winning entry at Latrobe Newsagency, 90 Gilbert Street, Latrobe. Latrobe Newsagency owner Michelle Callander and the exciting win topped of her outlet’s National Newsagent Week celebrations.
“We will be celebrating the win in store this week. Everyone will be so excited as we are a tight-knit community!” she exclaimed.
“We’ve sold six division one winning entries over the years but the last was about ten years ago so we are really excited to have broken our drought.
“Congratulations to our winner! We are so excited for her and share in her happiness!”
