Saturday Lotto win adds skip to Salamander Bay man’s step
A Salamander Bay man has confessed he’ll have a skip in his step today after the revelation he was a division one winner in the weekend’s Saturday Lotto draw.
The New South Wales resident held one of the seven division one winning entries nationally in Saturday Lotto draw 3943 on Saturday 4 May 2019. Each division one winning entry takes home a division one prize of $573,863.51.
When our team reached out to the winner this morning, he admitted he was still beaming about the win.
“I haven’t let the ticket out of my hand,” he exclaimed.
“Yesterday morning I checked my emails and it was a nice surprise!
“I got the shock of my life.
“It all sounds very good! Excellent!”
While he still planned to front up to work today, the regular Lotto player told us he was bound to be distracted thinking about his win.
“Life goes on, but with a little bit more of a skip in my step,” he said.
“We’ve got a mortgage hanging over our heads, so I’ll certainly put some towards that and then a little bit of travel.
“It’s come at a very good time.”
The man, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased his winning 50-game QuickPick entry at McCauley’s Bottleshop, 259 Soldiers Point Road, Salamander Bay.
McCauley’s Bottleshop owner John McCauley said he was ecstatic his outlet sold a division one winning entry.
“I’m actually overwhelmingly happy that one of our customers won!” he exclaimed.
“We’ve only been a lottery outlet for about four months, so I was in a state of disbelief when I saw we had sold our first big one.
“It makes all of our staff happy to put that winning smile on someone's face! It’s just a great feeling to be part of making a customer’s dream come true.
“We are a bottleshop, so we’ll be cracking open some champagne to celebrate.”
