Glenelg man’s inkling delivers $1.8 million X Lotto win!
A Glenelg man has admitted he wasn’t overly excited when he discovered his family had won $1.8 million in the weekend’s X Lotto draw because he was already convinced that they were going to win.
The humble winners held one of the 11 division one winning entries nationally in Saturday X Lotto draw 4153, drawn Saturday 8 May 2021. Each entry takes home a division one prize worth $1,818,181.82.
Speaking with us this morning, the Adelaide couple said they were entranced by their division one win.
“Hang on, I need to put some trackies on,” the winning man laughed.
“Despite this weather, it’s a good day for us.
“We found out we won yesterday. I was lazing around the house while my wife was gardening, and I thought I would check the ticket.
“I was checking all the numbers and then I realised I had all of them and I thought ‘how nice is that!’.
“I called my wife into the house and she didn’t believe me. She just kept saying that it couldn’t be right.
“She needs to hear you confirm it before she’ll believe we’re millionaires.
“It’s crazy, because I had this feeling I was going to win! I had even been telling my family that I was going to win division one.
“So when I checked the ticket, I wasn’t overly excited, because I knew It was going to happen.
“It really feels as though it was meant to be.
“We went out for lunch yesterday to celebrate and it was nice and very relaxing.
“But we are going to invite our family over and have a big party and break the news to them then.”
When asked how they planned to enjoy their million-dollar windfall, the contented winners thought of their family first.
“I am so happy we’ve had this win because it will make a big difference to our family’s life,” the winning man continued.
“It will be really great! It will help them a lot.
“I am sure we will do something to spoil ourselves, but the majority of this prize is for our family.”
The winning 25-game QuickPick entry was purchased at Glenelg Community Pharmacy, Shop 3, 101-103 Partridge Street, Glenelg.
Glenelg Community Pharmacy owner Simon Bray said he could not be more thrilled for his winners.
“It’s great news!” he declared.
“I can imagine how excited the winners were when they discovered this news, especially on Mother’s Day!
“Hopefully, they can do something nice with their prize.
“We’d love to send our congratulations to our winners! We wish you all the very best.”
