No more night shifts for Evanston woman after X Lotto division one fortune
An early retirement is on the cards for an Evanston woman who has vowed not to work another nightshift after realising a $1.69 million X Lotto win is suddenly coming her way.
The South Australian player held one of the four division one winning entries nationally in X Lotto draw 4145, drawn Saturday 10 April 2021. Each division one winner takes home a prize worth $1,695,815.49.
Confirming the exciting news with us this afternoon, the emotional winner explained she’d just checked her ticket at the newsagency.
“It doesn’t feel real!” she exclaimed.
“I won’t believe it until I see it in my bank account.
“Thank you so much. This is incredible.
“When they checked the ticket in instore and they told me the prize was too big for them to pay out, I thought it might have been a division two or three prize.
“I didn’t think it would be division one!
“It’s really, really terrific.
“It doesn’t seem real!”
When asked how she planned to enjoy her lottery fortune, the overjoyed woman said retirement was suddenly around the corner.
“I’m not going to keep working,” she declared.
“I’ll never have to do another nightshift! I can retire earlier than I’d planned.
“I’m going to buy myself a new car. I’ve never bought myself a new car in all my life. It’s always been second hand.”
The overwhelmed winner, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased her life-changing entry at Gawler Green Newsagency, Shop 9, Gawler Green Shopping Centre, 491 Main North Road, Evanston.
Gawler Green Newsagency team member Chantelle Platten said she was so happy to serve the division one winning customer.
“It was so exciting when the winner came in and checked her ticket,” she said.
“I was shaking and so happy for her. She had no idea she’d won division one.
“And it’s so nice to see this amazing prize go to a local woman.
“This is the fourth division one winning entry we’ve sold and we can’t wait to do it again soon.”
