A Sale man has admitted to waking his wife up from a peaceful slumber in the early hours of the morning to reveal their life-changing $1.7 million win in the weekend’s TattsLotto.

The Gippsland residents held one of the three division one winning entries in TattsLotto draw 4401, drawn Saturday 23 September 2023 and pocketed a total prize of $1,720,294.16.

The dynamic duo shared their minds were still racing despite discovering their newfound fortune on Sunday morning.

“Woo-hoo! Wow!” the winning husband cheered.

“How do we feel? Incredibly awesome! On top of the world!

“This is life-changing for us. We’ve had to stop each other’s thoughts from running wild.”

The winning wife couldn’t contain her excitement and relayed how the million-dollar discovery came about.

“He came in at 6.10am on Sunday morning and woke me up in a frenzy,” she shared.

“He told me we had won $1.7 million, but he thought it was some sort of scam. I also thought he was joking but then we looked into it together and realised it was real.”

With $1.7 million about to boost their bank account and their future plans, the Victorians were eager to take a step back and relax for years to come.

“Honestly, we don’t know exactly what we want to do with the prize, but we look forward to living life with a bit of ease. We’ve worked hard our whole lives,” she said.

“We keep thinking of things to do but would like to be realistic and make sensible decisions.

“One thing we do know though is how to celebrate and we did exactly that on the weekend.

“We will keep this win to ourselves as we live in a small town, but that makes it extra special.”

Their winning 50-game QuickPick was purchased at Raymond Street Lotto, 189 Raymond Street, Sale.

Raymond Street Lotto manager Angela Harry said she was so proud of her entire team for selling a division one winning entry and changing the lives of a local family.

“Raymond Street Lotto are extremely overjoyed to have sold a division one winning entry in the weekend’s TattsLotto draw and we couldn’t be happier for our local winners,” she said.

“We’ve been talking about it all morning with customers wondering who the fortunate winners could be!

“We’re so pleased to hear the division one winning entry went to a local family who have supported us for years.

“We would like to congratulate them on their life-changing win and thank them for choosing Raymond Street Lotto to purchase their lottery tickets.

“Hopefully this is the start to a winning streak for us and there will be many division one winning tickets to come!”
